Data Collection: Method types and tools Knowledge clip: Data repositories Data collection and repository play a pivotal role in the management, preservation and dissemination of Knowledge. Understanding these two concepts is important because they shape how information is generated, organized, accessed and preserved. This paper summarises the two topics. Data collection is the systematic process of gathering information for a specific purpose such as research, planning, evaluation, or decision making (Creswell & Creswell, 2018). In Libraries, data collection is necessary for assessing user satisfaction, measuring performance, identifying information needs and improving service delivery.
